Though it seemed somehow inevitable in the days leading up to March 15, it still came as a shock to know that all 7,000+ serving PCVs are now being evacuated from their Peace Corps countries. This traumatic interruption of service is certainly not the way a PCV wants to end their service - unfinished projects, unsung farewells, unrung COS bells, and unsaid goodbyes.
We are an attentive and caring Peace Corps community that empathizes with those PCVs and awaits them with our collective embrace as they return home. We are hundreds of thousands of returned Peace Corps Volunteers - including many whose service has been cut short-, former staff, host country nationals, family and friends who care deeply for them.
And we are an amazing Peace Corps network of NPCA affiliate groups - more than 180. How can you help? Join our virtual town hall with affiliate group leaders to share your plans and get ideas on how your group can help.
