Global Reentry: Education & Professional Development

Education & Professional Development

The Global Reentry Program provides a regulary-updated and expanding clearinghouse for opportunities promoted by our many partner universities throughout the United States and abroad. Many RPCVs are also interested in staying up to speed in on international development efforts — particularly in their countries of service — as well as learning new ways to further the Peace Corps mission, or simply staying abreast of new and noteworthy service-related professional topics.

RPCV Scholarships

We encourage returned Volunteers to explore graduate scholarships and special opportunities offered by universities to RPCVs throughout the United States and around the world. You’ll find the latest opportunities from NPCA supporting institutions on the NPCA homepage, in the twice-monthly NPCA enewsletter, and in the pages of WorldView magazine — in print and in the WorldView App.

NPCA Scholarships

Scholarships allow NPCA members to pursue master’s degrees in international programs through SIT Graduate Institute. NPCA members who have one year or more of significant international experience are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Several competitive awards for all degrees are made each year. The SIT NPCA Scholarship offers 25% off tuition benefit to all members, and now also offers 35% off to members affected by the COVID-19 crisis. The benefit is valid for two years, starting in fall 2020.

Coverdell Fellowships

The Paul D. Coverdell Fellows program provides an opportunity for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers to continue their service to underserved communities while also pursuing graduate studies at a reduced cost. More than 200 graduate programs offer Coverdell Fellowships in fields spanning public health and education, environmental studies and psychology, business and engineering, journalism and international affairs — and many more.
