About Friends of India
The FRIENDS OF INDIA (FOI) are Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) who served in India from 1961-1976, their families and friends, their India supervisors and counterparts, former Peace Corps/India staff and anyone who might have an interest in India and Peace Corps.
Founded in 1978, we are a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that does not advertise. Our membership is approximately 500.
The goals of the Friends of India are:
- To continue to expand our understanding of India.
- To provide Returned Peace Corps Volunteers [RPCVs] from India, and others interested in India and the Peace Corps, a channel of communication and information via our newsletter and secure Website.
- To increase awareness and support of FOI charities:
