RPCV: Zambia, 2023-35
Currently: Clark Coverdell Fellow and Peace Corps Prep Graduate Assistant
“My experience as an aquaculture volunteer in a rural Zambian community inspired me to think more deeply on the connections between food security, climate change, and the environment. I chose to come to Clark because of its Sustainable Food Systems program, global learning opportunities, and the international community here in Worcester. I am excited to join an agroecology and ethnobotany project in Kenya focused on resilience of grain mixtures and school meals.”
Marissa Kelemen, Zambia, 2018-20
Name: Marissa Kelemen
RPCV: Zambia, 2018-20
Coverdell Fellow: International Development, 2023-2025
Currently: Capital Projects Fund Programs Coordinator at Massachusetts Technology Collaborative
“I chose to be a Coverdell Fellow at Clark University because of the impressive faculty and staff, global learning opportunities and the diverse, international student body. This past summer, I had an amazing opportunity to intern at an organization in Bangladesh through one of Clark’s new Global Learning Collaboratives. I gained so much from this experience and I’m so grateful to have access to opportunities like this through Clark.”
Katie Walker, Senegal, 2018-20
Name: Katie Walker
RPCV: Senegal, 2018-20
Coverdell Fellow: Environmental Science & Policy, 2023-2025
Currently: Data Management Specialist at the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission
“I chose to attend Clark University to expand my environmental science and policy knowledge while also being able to take electives in other departments and the opportunity to learn from a diverse range of professors. This has allowed me to take advanced geospatial analytics courses and introductory environmental modeling classes. With the university’s culture of encouraging students to become involved in the local community, the Coverdell Fellowship, and being located in a diverse city, Clark was my top choice for graduate schools.”
