We’ve just launched our new website! Some features may still be in the works – thank you for your patience as we fine-tune your experience.

At NPCA, we believe diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to our mission. We are committed to creating an inclusive platform where all voices within the Peace Corps community can be expressed. The rich collective experience of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) and their allies allows us to share unique perspectives and life experiences, reflecting our dedication to continuous service.

Defining Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We define diversity, equity, and inclusion as ensuring all people from different social and ethnic backgrounds, races, genders, ages, religions, sexual orientations, and abilities are seen, heard, respected, and valued. However, we recognize that diversity alone does not automatically result in inclusion. Our goal is to value all individuals and welcome their perspectives, acknowledging that equity requires addressing the unequal starting points and imbalances that different people face.

Creating and Reinforcing DEI in Our Community

NPCA commits to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion across all facets of our organization and community — from staffing and board membership to programming and community engagement.

Through our work, we will uphold our commitment by:

  • Providing a platform for potential volunteers to connect with RPCVs and learn more about pre-service experiences.
  • Offering spaces to market DEI-related affinity groups and their events.
  • Keeping up-to-date data on Peace Corps demographics.
  • Featuring opinion pieces on DEI-related issues to foster dialogue and understanding.
  • Providing tools and resources that promote inclusion and accessibility.

Our website comes equipped with accessibility tools that are ADA-inclusive.
