Integrative Climate Research at Clark University - Coverdell Fellows building high-impact careers

Thursday, November 21

10:00 am eastern

Coverdell Fellows in the Clark University Department of Sustainability and Social Justice conduct interdisciplinary environmental research focusing on the impacts of climate change and strategies for
adaptation.

Join us for short presentations by faculty and students in the Environmental Science &Policy program, highlighting their current research in New England, Sierra Leone, and Ethiopia.

Morgan Ruelle (PhD, RPCV Armenia 2004-2006) is the Coverdell Fellows Coordinator for Clark. His research with farmers in Ethiopia focuses on traditional grain mixtures, including their contributions to
food culture, nutrition, soil regeneration, and climate adaptation.

Katie Walker (RPCV Senegal 2018-2020) is a Coverdell Fellow with previous experience at the US Forest Service and Maxar Technologies. Her Master’s thesis research focuses on recent trends in air quality in New England, including the impacts of wildfire pollution.

Abdulai Turay received a Melder Award to conduct qualitative research in his home country of Sierra Leone. His Master’s thesis research focuses on flooding adaptation strategies in Culvert Community, an informal coastal settlement in Freetown.

Presentations will be followed by a Q&A session and support for Coverdell Fellowships at Clark University.

Zoom link will appear on the bottom of this page upon form submission.
