The Thought Leaders Series brings together Returned Peace Corp Volunteers (RPCVs) who have become thought leaders and influencers in various fields throughout the United States and across the world. They share how their Peace Corps service informed and influenced their career choices and how the knowledge, skills, and abilities they gained through service have helped them make a positive impact in their fields and in their home communities.
This last panel discussion of 2021 brings together an exceptional group of RPCVs who are leading efforts across multiple sectors to address climate change. They will share their expertise on climate change within their sector, thoughts on how their PCV experience contributed to how they approach their work, and ideas for partnering with communities at home and abroad to address current and future challenges. Esteemed panelists are: Dr. Patrick Gonzalez, Assistant Director for Climate and Biodiversity, White House (RPCV/Senegal); Jacqueline Patterson, Founder, Shirley Chisolm Center for Environmental Justice (RPCV/Jamaica); Dr. Jonathan Drewry, Regional Advisor, Climate Change and Health, Pan American Health Organization (RPCV/Bolivia).
