About Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of New Jersey

The Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of New Jersey, Inc., a non-profit organization comprised of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and former Peace Corps Staff as well as other individuals who promote the ideals of the United States Peace Corps, is established to:

  • Support the Peace Corps’ mission as well as that of the National Peace Corps Association,
  • Promote cultural understanding and awareness of international issues,
  • Encourage individuals to join the Peace Corps,
  • Support active and recently returned volunteers,
  • Create and support a social network for returned volunteers, and
  • Facilitate collaboration and volunteerism with organizations with similar goals.

The RPCV-NJ chapter of the NPCA :

  • promotes awareness among our members regarding current Peace Corps policy and events,
  • advocates on the behalf of the Peace Corps,
  • serves as a social contact for newly returned volunteers,
  • provides a resource to local schools and universities for international/intercultural celebrations and programs,
  • funds Peace Corps Partnership projects, as well as local organizations founded by former Peace Corps volunteers.

Each year, RPCV-NJ hosts several state-wide and regional events, such as:

  • Annual meeting
  • Ethnic dining and other Social Events
  • Fundraising for PCP projects
  • Outreach and Volunteer events
  • Advocacy trainings and events
  • Film screenings, theater and other cultural events
