National Peace Corps Association (NPCA), the nation’s leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization mobilizing a united and vibrant Peace Corps community to create social change, is seeking a digital savvy, detail-oriented team player with social media expertise to serve an integral role in the development and execution of NPCA’s communications.
NPCA needs a Digital Content Manager to spearhead communication and engagement with our diverse and large membership on multiple digital platforms. We have a small but nimble staff that works hard; the position requires someone who can work with others and balance the organization’s multiple initiatives, programs and priorities. The communications department’s responsibilities include overseeing a soon-to-be-launched digital WorldView platform, the existing NPCA website, multiple social media channels and a twice-monthly e-newsletter. The position will coordinate content with NPCA’s quarterly print magazine, WorldView.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The newly created Digital Content Manager position reports to the Communications Director or, in absence, the President/CEO, and will be expected to:
Write and produce content for NPCA’s social media channels, website, digital WorldView website, and e-newsletter
Use content management systems (CMS) to publish content, as well as utilize tools to optimize web user experiences
Oversee NPCA’s social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Instagram, and utilize analytics to boost engagement and followers
Own and manage the digital editorial calendar and publish content
Edit and publish twice-monthly e-newsletters and other messages in MailChimp, as well as help to develop an effective e-newsletter strategy
Support the team in publishing the print version of WorldView magazine
Work across departments on communication initiatives to increase awareness, advertise programs, and promote activities that support the organization’s mission
Other duties may be assigned in support of our communications efforts
Strong writing and editing
Video, photo and text editing and publication design, including the use of Photoshop and InDesign
Experience using CMS, analytic tools and HTML, as well as knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
Proven track record of growing a brand’s audience and boosting loyalty through email lists and social media
Significant professional experience working with social media
Ability to work with efficiency and flexibility
Professional demeanor and ability to gracefully manage stressful situations
Ability to manage multiple activities within established priorities
Ability to work well independently and with a diverse team of professionals

B.A. / B.S. or equivalent experience required
3-5 years communications experience required
Experience working in a nonprofit environment and/or overseas a plus
Compensation commensurate with experience
