In honor of International Women's Day, National Peace Corps Association (NPCA), Women of Peace Corps Legacy (WPCL), and Dining for Women (DfW) are hosting an online educational streaming event on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 4:00 – 6:00pm at American University in Washington, DC.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Tererai Trent whose inspiring life story has been featured in Nicholas Kristoff and Sherly WuDunn’s book, Half the Sky. Oprah Winfrey has spotlighted Dr. Tererai and contributed significant financial support to her work. Judy Woodruff has been asked to participate in the event. Other partners include: Peace is Loud, Women America, PCI, and the Association of Junior Leagues International. The theme of the event will be women as Climate Justice Advocates. The event will include speakers on the climate crisis and how women experience and are addressing it. A call to action will be made for all viewers.
