Thanks in large part to the efforts of NPCA Affiliate Groups—especially leaders and Advocacy Coordinators—the Senate has proposed level funding for the Peace Corps' fiscal year 2018 budget and the agency now has a much better shot at avoiding cuts. Though our efforts are still needed to #ProtectPeaceCorps for the fiscal year 2018, we are in the midst of efforts needed for the fiscal year 2019.
NPCA is currently conducting outreach to the White House and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) regarding the Peace Corps' fiscal year 2019 budget request. As part of our outreach and as in years past, NPCA will submit a letter to the president and OMB testifying to the impact of the Peace Corps through the work of Affiliate Groups. The more signatures we can secure, the greater and more diverse community we can project to the Administration.
If you would like to discuss NPCA's approach to the Trump Administration and our efforts since February through the #ProtectPeaceCorps campaign, please join J.M. Ascienzo, NPCA's Government Relations Officer, for this special video conference!
