Silver Spring Town Center's Film and Lecture Series, in collaboration with National Peace Corps Association (NPCA), present a special screening of A Towering Task: The Story of the Peace Corps. Following the presentation, there will be a brief conversation about the current state and future of the Peace Corps led by NPCA President Glenn Blumhorst.

A Towering Task takes viewers on a journey of what it means to be a global citizen. Historians, journalists, former staff and volunteers, and host country nationals come together to tell a story of many voices, a story about the enormous challenge of building peace. Notable interviewees include President Jimmy Carter, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Representatives Donna Shalala and Joe Kennedy, Maria Shriver, Tim Shriver, and Teddy Shriver, as well as Peace Corps founders Harris Wofford and Bill Josephson. Directed by Alana DeJoseph with Associate Producer Dave Steinke, the film is narrated by Annette Bening.

The screening will take place on Tuesday, March 3 at Buffalo Soldiers Great Hall Silver Spring Civic Building 1 Veterans Place Silver Spring, MD 20910 from 7:00pm-9:30pm. The event is free & open to everyone.
