To educate girls is to build a healthier family, a stronger community, and a brighter future. Unfortunately, today over 62 million girls around the world are not in school and too often are prevented from obtaining an education by the circumstances of their birth or the customs of their community.
This initiative strikes at the core of cultural and contextual realities that prevent girls’ access to learning in school. In the last two years, more than 400 Peace Corps Volunteers, staff, and host country counterparts have been trained to respond to gender-based bias and violence that keep girls from getting an education.
Across the globe, community-based girls' education and empowerment projects facilitated by members of our Peace Corps community are opening doors for a brighter future. The development community has long known that investing in girls and women yields the highest returns, so you can be assured that your contribution to this campaign will too.
NPCA invests 85 percent of the donation directly in the projects and 15 percent where needed most to support our overall mission.
