Get Better at Doing Good (Peace Corps Style)
As members of the Peace Corps community, we share a common goal: we want to Do Good. We want to help people live good lives and leave the world a little better than how we found it. Knowing this, NPCA and RPCVs of Colorado (RPCVO) have stuffed Peace Corps Connect full of opportunities to become even better at doing good…from breakout sessions like “Service, Educational, and Professional Development Opportunities for RPCVs” to social events where you can network with others just as passionate as you are.
One of Many "Doing Good" Breakout Sessions
Service, Educational, and Professional Development Opportunities for RPCVs
In this breakout session, RPCVs will discover service, educational, and professional development opportunities available through their local chapter of the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA) or Global Ties U.S. Community-Based Member (CBM). WACA strives to foster deeper understanding of key global issues and to provide participants with access to leaders and decision-makers so that communities can better compete, collaborate, and make informed decisions in a complex world. Global Ties U.S. builds a more peaceful, prosperous world through strengthening international exchange.
Participants will learn from several individuals involved in these initiatives:
- Dan Wienecke, WorldDenver, Manager, Visitor and Exchange Programs
- Katy Anderson, WorldDenver, Manager of Development
- Kevin Amirehsani, Colorado Office of the State Auditor, Legislative Performance Auditor
- Sierra Hutchinson, Community College of Denver, Achievement Coach
- Gergana Kostadinova, WorldDenver, Manager, Professional and Youth Exchange Programs
