Signed, Limited Edition Commemorative 50th Anniversary Poster
It was a doodle at first – of the omnipresent Peace Sign that measured the growing intensity of the Peace Movement. A design – that recruiters adopted and printed on-the-fly to announce each campus visit. A symbol – that both declared and challenged the personal commitment that defined the spirit of the Peace Corps.
In 1970 Gary Jameson (RPCV Turkey) was invited work with the art department at Peace Corps headquarters to create a series of posters to support the recruitment effort on college campuses. This national version of the Peace Sign poster was printed in red, purple and green and distributed by campus recruiters in the early 70s.
Now you can own a copy of this iconic poster, updated for 2011 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps.
A very limited number of these signed and numbered (# of 250) posters are still available for purchase. Cost: $75.00. (18″ x 24″ 2-color silk screen posters produced by Jason Teegarden-Downs at Delicious Design League in Chicago.)

09/61 Volunteer Plimsoll by SeaVees
The 09/61 Volunteer Plimsoll was inspired by the September 1961 passage of the Peace Corps Act. SeaVees celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps by recreating a style from our early sixties origin. Through an exclusive partnership with the National Peace Corps Association, SeaVees will make a donation for each pair sold to a planned Peace Corps commemorative in Washington, D.C. This new release can only be found at SeaVees beginning September 1, 2011. SeaVees is proud to partner with the NPCA and support the ideals of the Peace Corps.
