Peace Corps 50th Anniversary In Review
The National Peace Corps Association was honored to play a significant role in the 50th Anniversary of the Peace Corps.
This milestone celebrated the Peace Corps community’s accomplishments and gave us all an opportunity to reflect on how each one of us can continue to exemplify the Peace Corps mission and spirit. NPCA looks forward to advancing community ties and service well into the future through its 50th Anniversary activities.

Call to Peace Report
The National Peace Corps Association partnered with Civic Enterprises to find out more about the impact the Peace Corps has on those who serve. The effort culminated in the largest independent survey ever to be carried out in an attempt to analyze RPCV’s post-service attitudes and reflections. Interested in the results? Around the World Expos
The National Peace Corps Association, in conjunction with the Peace Corps Regional Recruitment Offices and select Member Groups, coordinated a series of 50th Anniversary Around the World Expos nationwide. Each regional Expo highlighted the work of the Peace Corps over the past 50 years, while seeking to engage RPCVs and inspire the next generation of volunteers. Each Expo featured exhibits from RPCVs showcasing their work around the world, remarks from both Peace Corps and NPCA, and discussion sessions for interested applicants and RPCVs. One Expo took place right in our nation’s “front yard,” The National Mall, in Washington, D.C., extending from late June into early August. Here, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival featured cooking presentations showcasing cuisines from around the world, musical, dance, and theatre productions, and a number of hands-on activities to educate visitors on the communities in which the Peace Corps serves. In the RPCVillage, RPCVs could reunite with their peers, reflect on service, and leave a note on a message board of their country of origin.
