Peace Corps 50th Anniversary

We are celebrating!

The National Peace Corps Association was honored to play a significant role in the 50th Anniversary of the Peace Corps.

This milestone celebrated the Peace Corps community’s accomplishments and gave us all an opportunity to reflect on how each one of us can continue to exemplify the Peace Corps mission and spirit. NPCA looks forward to advancing community ties and service well into the future through its 50th Anniversary activities.

Information on use of NPCA’s 50th anniversary logo, seen above, and more is on our 50th anniversary Press Kit page.

Below are highlights of 50th Anniversary Peace Corps events that took place between January 2011 – September 2011 in which NPCA had direct involvement.

Around the World Expos

The National Peace Corps Association, in conjunction with the Peace Corps Regional Recruitment Offices and select Member Groups, coordinated a series of 50th Anniversary Around the World Expos nationwide. Each regional Expo highlighted the work of the Peace Corps over the past 50 years, while seeking to engage RPCVs and inspire the next generation of volunteers.

Each Expo featured exhibits from RPCVs showcasing their work around the world, remarks from both Peace Corps and NPCA, and discussion sessions for interested applicants and RPCVs.

There will be four Expos in cities around the U.S. during 2012. Stay tuned for locations and registration information.
