Jensy teaches second grade for Loudoun County Public Schools and is an ESL Instructor for Northern Virginia Community College.

Previously, Jensy and her husband lived in Italy, where she volunteered as a health worker for at-risk children in the U.S. community there. Moving to Germany from Italy, she worked in education for Embry-Riddle University. Jensy has taught Montessori school in both the U.K. and Washington State.

Her involvement on boards includes currently serving as President of the Friends of Kenya and Equity Team Member of Newton-Lee Elementary School. In the past she has served on Board positions in her collegiate alum organizations, in her son’s schools, in expat communities, and locally in Virginia.

She has been a member of the Friends of Kenya and the NPCA for many years and is a member of NPCA’s Director’s Circle. Jensy served in the Peace Corps in Kenya where she taught in a Harambee school. She also worked as Staff for the Peace Corps in the U.S. from ’82-’83.

She earned a post-graduate certification in Montessori Education from the London Montessori Centre. Her undergraduate degree was in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Iowa.
