Jame Gors is a Presidential Appointee in the Administration of Barack Obama. As Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture for Departmental Management, he coordinates efforts amongst the following Staff Offices: Office of Advocacy and Outreach Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Coordination Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization Office of Civil Rights Office of Operations Office of the Chief Financial Officer Office of Budget and Program Analysis Office of the Chief Information Officer Office of Human Resource Management Office of Ethics Office of Procurement and Property Management Office of the Judicial Officer Office of Administrative Law Judges
Prior to his appointment at USDA, James was Vice President JBC International. In this role, James represented the U.S. wine and winegrape industry on International Affairs and Trade Policy. He specialized in Agriculture Policy, International Relations/Affairs, Trade Policy and Market Development. He supervised the firm’s business with regards to client relations, business development, advocacy and outreach, and project implementation.
James has been highly involved with the Peace Corps community in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. He was elected President of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Washington, DC, helped organize RPCVs to march in the 2009 Inaugural Parade and sits on the Peace Corps 50th Anniversary Committee.
He served three years as president before joining the NPCA Board of Directors in 2009 as a national and Mid-Atlantic representative. James served in the Peace Corps in Bolivia, where he met his wife, Elizabeth. He worked extensively with the local farmers and strategically managed and implemented agricultural business projects.
James received a degree in agribusiness and international business from California Polytechnic State University.
