Wanted: Returned Peace Corps Volunteers with Great Ideas
By Erica Burman on Friday, February 14th, 2014
Do you have an idea or know another Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) who has an idea that can change the world? Do you have a response to a social, health, educational or environmental problem – any idea that has a positive impact in general? Are you a social entrepreneur?
We’re looking for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who can share great ideas!
You could have the opportunity of a lifetime to tell it to other RPCVs around the world in Nashville on June 21, 2014 at the annual NPCA Peace Corps Connect gathering.
“Peace Corps Connect in Music City will provide numerous opportunities for RPCVs from all over the world to connect through dialogue and experience,” says Tennessee Returned Peace Corps Volunteer President Angela Harris (Papua New Guinea 1991-1993). “A personal goal of mine for the entire conference is to unite first-generation Peace Corps Volunteers with more recently returned Volunteers.”
There are two goals to the Great Ideas Search: to highlight exceptional initiatives of Returned Peace Corps volunteers, and to spread knowledge of those initiatives. It doesn’t matter what stage the initiative is in, but we would like all presenters to incorporate how their idea ties back to their experience in the Peace Corps.
We are now accepting presentation proposals. Nominations are due by March 31st, 2014.
