The NPCA Serving Volunteer Advisory Council (SVAC) creates a regular two-way channel of communication between serving Peace Corps Volunteers and the NPCA  – the nonprofit organization that connects and champions Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and the Peace Corps community. The SVAC’s also provides a way for Volunteers around the world to exchange information and ideas as they move toward their close of service.  Lauren Bernstein (Morocco 2011-2013) is the  SVAC Public Relations Senior Advisor and shares this news:

As a current or returned Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV), we all have arsenals of unusual, inspiring, or perhaps just crazy moments or experiences, large or small, where we reflect about our Peace Corps service and feel thankful for the opportunities that we have been given. NPCA’s Serving Volunteer Advisory Council (SVAC) has launched a new Tumblr to allow you to share that feeling with others! On Thank You, Peace Corps you can contribute a whole story or a short memory of an experience in which you were inspired, motivated, or perhaps just amused. SVAC hopes that reading the stories will put a smile on your face and remind you why it’s “The Toughest Job You’ll Ever Love.”

Check out Thank You, Peace Corps and share stories about your experience with PCVs and RPCVs throughout the world!

I would love to read the PVC stories. Perhaps some would like to contribute their own 1,000 words or less story “My Gutsy Story®” As a woman over 50, I am curious if you have any stories from “older” PCV as well. Where can we read the stories?
    Thanks.

Hi Sonia, all of the stories are available on the Tumblr blog at http://thankyou.pcv.me/. We don’t track the ages or even countries of the contributors but from reading some of the posts on the site now, it certainly sounds like they come from a broad range of experiences! Hope you enjoy them
