Texas Here We Come!

Advocacy Coordinator Jonathan Pearson is preparing for a mid-June swing through Texas!
While final details are still being nailed down in a few locales, mark your calendars and make plans to connect with Jonathan and other RPCVs from the Lone Star State for the latest from the NPCA and its advocacy program.

- Fort Worth – Sunday, June 12th:
Advocacy Workshop (4:00 – 6:00 PM) Palko Hall, Room 225 on the campus of Texas Christian University (The workshop will be followed by a gathering at 6:30 at Old Rip’s Tex-Mex Restaurant, 3015 Cockrell Avenue).
- Austin – Monday, June 13th:

- San Antonio – Tuesday, June 14th:
Coffee and Conversation (4:00 – 7:00 PM) Panera Bread (999 East Basse Road, San Antonio) Drop by for five minutes to say hello or stay longer if you can. Connect with members of the local Peace Corps community. Get updates about NPCA advocacy, 50th anniversary activities and more.
- Beaumont – Wednesday, June 15th:

- Houston – Thursday, June 16th:

- College Station – Friday, June 17th:
Advocacy Workshop (1:00 – 2:30 PM) TTI Building, Room 144 on the Campus of Texas A&M University. The workshop will be part of the Borlaug Institute Seminar and Lecture Series.

- Dallas – Saturday, June 18th:
Peace Corps 50th Anniversary Drinks and Dinner (5:00 PM) Connect with NPCA Advocacy Coordinator Jonathan Pearson and other local members of the Peace Corps community. Learn the latest from the NPCA, including 50th anniversary updates. We will gather at the Blue Mesa Grill, 5100 Belt Line, Addison TX 75254 (southeast corner of Belt Line and the Tollway). Wonder if there might be a visit scheduled down in Laredo – this is really an untapped resource for young people although they will not be in school. I might be able to rouse a few from summer sessions at Texas A & M International Univ. and the local community college.
Laredo is 150 miles from San Antonio and that is the closest, it appears, to where Peace Corps is coming.
It just seems to me that a lot of people here have not heard of Peace Corps or if they have, they don’t really understand what it does.
