By Jonathan Pearson on Wednesday, April 20th, 2011
Former National Peace Corps Association President Chic Dambach has been named to serve as the new Chief of Staff for RPCV Congressman John Garamendi (Ethiopia 66-68).
Dambach will begin his new position on July 1st.
Dambach, who served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Colombia from 1967 to 1969, led the NPCA from 1992 through 1998. For the past five and one-half years, he served as President and CEO of the Alliance for Peacebuilding. In an email announcement to friends, Dambach says “I look forward to helping make a difference in a Congress that needs some serious peacebuilding.”
Friends for nearly twenty years, Garamendi and Dambach were part of a team of returned Peace Corps volunteers who worked informally with the leaders of Ethiopia and Eritrea to end their border war in the late 1990′s.
A lecturer, consultant on non-profit governance and writer, Dambach recently published his memoir, Exhaust the Limits.
