Wanted: Your Signature for Service
By Jonathan Pearson on Friday, December 17th, 2010
“As a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer I fully support this strategy.” So says Kristen Sutara (Kenya 02-04) of Washington DC, one of the hundreds of early signers to a declaration stating support for expanded opportunities for international volunteer service, including Peace Corps.
National Peace Corps Association is one of the primary conveners of the Service World initiative, that is reaching far beyond the Peace Corps community to gather momentum for this initiative. “We’re off to a good start with hundreds of signatures,” says NPCA Advocacy Coordinator Jonathan Pearson. “But we need to show our leaders there are tens of thousands of supporters for international service.”
