Press Release: Give a Peace Corps-Themed Gift This Holiday Season With NPCA

Washington, DC — December 2nd, 2010Nonprofit offers T-shirts, coffee mugs, tote bags, and more to commemorate fifty-years of Volunteers

The National Peace Corps Association (NPCA), the nation’s leading nonprofit organization supporting Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and the Peace Corps community, is offering an array of Peace Corps-themed gifts for the holidays on its online store through Cafe Press. All merchandise purchased supports the operations of NPCA, the longest standing advocate of the Peace Corps and its values.

“The mission of the Peace Corps and the National Peace Corps Association fits right into the spirit of the holiday season,” said Kevin Quigley, president of the National Peace Corps Association. “And there’s no better way to celebrate volunteers, both current and former, than with a reminder of their service.”

Available on NPCA’s online store are T-shirts, coffee mugs, tote bags, a commemorative Christmas ornament, and other NPCA- and Peace Corps-logoed merchandise. Also offered are oval bumper stickers for Peace Corps Volunteers, returned Volunteers and their parents.

Because Cafe Press does not create the items until a customer orders them, NPCA is able to sell a wide array of gifts including baby bibs, onesies and even teddy bears for infants, toddlers andyoung children; greeting cards, magnets and journals; and aprons, hoodies and sweatshirts. In addition, Serendipitea is offering two special-edition tea blends available for purchase on their website where 20 percent of the sales will be donated to NPCA.

“You can feel good about purchasing these gifts for the holidays because you know they are helping give back to the Peace Corps community,” Quigley said. “With this year marking the beginning of the program’s 50th anniversary, there is no better time to give a Peace Corps themed gift.”
