Save the Date: Don’t Miss the Celebration!
By Erica Burman on Thursday, June 17th, 2010
The Peace Corps turns 50 in 2011! You’re an important part of our history, and we at the National Peace Corps Association would like you to help us celebrate!
We’re planning several events around the world to recognize this landmark achievement. We want to make sure you don’t miss out on this global celebration—but we need to know the best way to keep in touch.
There will be fun, meaningful, interactive, and celebratory events for everyone. We’re organizing a Global Day of Celebration on March 1, 2011—stay tuned for how to plan an event in your home or local area. We’re having a weekend of events in Washington, D.C. next September, plus lots more!
Here’s the important part… In order to receive news and event updates, you need to be sure we can contact you. It will be a lot more fun if your fellow RPCV friends are involved too. Send them an invitation to take part.

Share the good news about the 50th Anniversary Celebration with at least three of your Peace Corps friends and you automatically will be eligible to win a two-week, all-inclusive volunteering vacation to Central America for you and a friend, courtesy of Global Vision International (GVI). That’s right, you could be working on building eco-stoves in Guatemala or working on turtle conservation projects in Costa Rica. All food, lodging and program costs will be paid!
